Alert! Fin/Ins - Are you ready for the Global Millennials?
About a year ago I had written a post about Tencent, a messaging company in China. An article in The Economist published a couple of days ago (link in the bottom of the post) got me looking further as to how we all have progressed.
There are a lot of Fin/Ins companies who have been behind the curve with social and digital transformation while a limited few finance & insurance companies have forged along with JV’s/partnerships and acquisitions type relationships.
Four observations from a year ago:
- Tencent and emerging powerhouses are opportunities we in the Fin/Ins West have to seriously consider, and be closely aligned with the internal Innovation and venture BU's.
- There appears to be some progress with a limited few - socially & digitally transformed Fin/Ins global companies.
- Business collaborations have begun to emerge in social and mobile at internal venture and innovation BU's. Kudos!
- Ten Cent is still a bull.
Alert! Alert! – Global Fin/Ins companies to innovate with new demographically regional /state /country specific focused products & user centric designs which are uniquely positioned for the millennials.
Next steps: Innovation, Sales, Social + Digital Marketing + UX should form a tighter bond.
