15 Reasons Why America Is the Greatest Entrepreneurial Country
On my July 3rd radio show, I defended my belief that America is the greatest country in the world to be an entrepreneur. Listen to the episode to hear a defense of each reason. I, without much effort, was able to list 15 reasons why America is the best place to be an entrepreneur! Here they are.....
- Failure is accepted, even rewarded, in the U.S. In most places, you get one shot at being an entrepreneur. Is the U.S., you get unlimited tries!
- The American culture loves entrepreneurs. More people want to be entrepreneurs than rock stars or movie stars. Its cool to be an entrepreneur. Can't say that in lots of other countries.
- Entrepreneurial creativity is rewarded, praised, and encouraged in the U.S. Many countries' educational system beats creativity out of students.
- Passion and hard work are cool here. It is expected that you love your work here. Not true everywhere!
- America is a risk taking country. Risk takers are cool!
- While the U.S regulatory environment is not perfect, and seems to be getting worse, it is still easier to start a business here than most places in the world!
- America is the freest country on Earth! Be whatever you want to be!
- America is the "work-at-home" country! Very few countries have houses big enough to work at home. Try it in Japan! America homes are probably too big, but at least they provide room for that entrepreneurial startup!
- HIPPA and ACA insurance laws make it easy for entrepreneurs to get health insurance and keep it.
- The U.S. is the greatest place for women, minorities, and LGBT to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. There are so many programs, incentives, and cultural factors that help minorities achieve their dreams.
- Its still acceptable to like money in the U.S. The rich are still cool.
- There are countless opportunities for continuing education. No other country has as many chances to continue to advance your skill set as the U.S. Entrepreneurs continue to grow their whole life and the U.S. is the best place to make that happen.
- America has the world's best VC and angel network. No place is easier to raise money!
- The U.S. is best place for immigrants to find success. The country is based on immigrants building businesses here. America welcomes immigrants with open arms and their changes for success are only limited by their skills.
- Every generation, even the millennials (whom I love to bash), create great new markets and businesses!

8y....yes but we are increasingly closing opportunities for our own people in favor of business owners from overseas....no need to be protectionists, but let's acknowledge who and what makes this country great and stop looking only at the global bottom line....
