6. A lot of them used to work in sales

The most common industry for recruiters to come from is sales, followed by operations and administration.

7. Most have a bachelor’s degree, but few have a master’s degree

Seventy-seven percent of recruiters have a bachelor’s degree, but only 18 percent have a master’s degree.

The most common undergraduate major among recruiters is psychology, with business, marketing and human resources coming in at second, third and fourth, respectively.

The number-one skill added to recruiter’s LinkedIn profiles in 2014 was training, which was just ahead of customer service.
