16 Quotes That'll Make You A Better Marketer & Storyteller

In my early twenties, I decided I wanted to either be a writer or a teacher. After training as a journalist, I realized that those were the same thing.

Now, a few years later as a businessperson, I still spend most of my days writing and teaching. Both internally—with my team—and externally, which helps us build relationships with customers and advocates. There's no more powerful way to connect.

If you're connected to a computer today, you're a publisher. If you're on social media, you're a marketer. If you're in business, you should be doing both of those things, and you should be using that opportunity to teach and help and enlighten.

And yet much (initial) success depends on "media shouting" - media ubiquity exploits our lower human instincts - "seeeen it ssoooo manyyyy timesss <zombie noises> mussst buy ittt <more zombie noises>". To counter my own stance in the interests of debate, is the wonderful saying "Nothing kills a bad product quicker than great advertising."

Contrary indeed. It seems that marketing should be used to tell people why your great product is indeed so great, and how it best applies to the needs of prospective clients. A great story makes that meaningful and memorable.

Marketing is all about story-telling. Brands are made up of inspiring stories only...The better the story connects the bigger the Brand grows in stature...
